Frederick the Great was born on January 17,1712 in Berlin, Prussia. In 1730, at the age of 18, he tried to escape to England where his grandfather was king in search of personal freedom and a new Prussian alliance with the British. He married Elizabeth of Brunswick in 1733. He was 28 when he took the throne in 1740. As soon as he took the throne he claimed war on Austria for eight years, losing to Maria Theresa.After he lost to Austria, Frederick the II became a positive absolute monarch by revamping Prussia's justice system. He supported freedom and trade by building canals. He made Prussia a stronger economy. Frederick the Great trained an army of 154,000 and kicked off the Seven Years war in 1756. He attacked Saxong (Austria's ally). After winning the Seven years war and presuming his duties for a long time. He died on August 17, 1786 of natural causes.
